Technology Classes

There are a variety of free computer classes for all skill levels open to everyone. Our skilled instructors can help you learn basic word processing, or more advanced skills like Excel and PowerPoint or even help you get an email account. 

  • All classes are free.
  • Registration is required for all classes and begins the first day of the month prior to the class date.
  • To register, call 314-994-3300 or register online.
  • Class registration ends two days before the scheduled class.
  • Virtual classes are held using Zoom.
  • A valid email address is required for virtual classes.
  • Registrants for virtual classes will receive an email with a link to join the class after registering. If you do not receive this email, check your spam or junk folder.

Computer Basics

Intro to Computers I

Focuses on using and practicing with the computer mouse along with some basic computer concepts.

Intro to Computers II

Explores basic computer terminology, portable storage and the keyboard.

File Management

Includes creating, saving, renaming, copying, moving, searching for and deleting files and folders.

Microsoft Word

Word I

Includes the basics of text entry and editing, plus opening and saving using Microsoft Word 2016.

Word II

This class includes printing and tailoring your text using Word 2016 to enhance its visual impact.

Word III

Demonstrates how to use features such as lists, page numbers, plus moving or copying text.

Word: Graphics

Use graphic elements like page borders, text boxes, WordArt and pictures.

Word: Mail Merge

Insert data from a table or spreadsheet into labels or other documents.

Word: Tables and Labels

Create, format and modify tables and labels using Microsoft Word 2016.

Microsoft Excel

Excel I

Navigating the program and entering, editing and deleting data using Microsoft Excel 2016.

Excel II

Basic formulas and functions in a spreadsheet.

Excel: Charts

How to create, modify and print simple charts.
