St. Louis County Library Foundation presents an event with Bobby Bostic, author of “Humbled to the Dust: Still I Rise.” The event will take place on Monday, August 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Florissant Valley Branch, 195 New Florissant Rd. The St. Louis County Library Foundation and the Novel Neighbor are pleased to host popular thriller writer Catriona Ward, author of “Looking Glass Sound.” The event will take place on Monday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Rd., St. Louis MO, 63123. The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event from The Novel Neighbor.

St. Louis County Library is celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop with special programming throughout August and September. Events include Dj workshops, beat making tutorials, dance instruction, art programs and more. Presenters include  Grammy-award winning producer Alonzo Lee, Freedom Arts & Education Center, Consuming Kinetics Dance Company, DJ G. Whiz and DJ LadJock of KDHX. The celebration will culminate in an outdoor Hip Hop Block Party with food trucks, a live DJ, a graffiti wall, and other activities on Friday, September 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Bangert Park in Florissant.
